Our Story Our Story

We’ve been making our legendary hotdogs for over 60 years, but how did we get here?

Birth of a Legend

Picture this, Great Britain in 1960. Rationing only ended 6 years ago. Elvis got drafted. The Beatles are stuck in Hamburg. It’s a black-and-white world. Sure, there’ve been glimmers of change but here we all are, still waiting… for something big to happen.

Enter two brothers-in-law in Northern England. They bought a business and transformed it into a hot dog-making dream machine, bringing a much-needed flavour of classic American food culture to these shores. Westlers was born.

The 1960s went from black and white to colour. They began to swing.

No Surprises Here

What goes into a Westler? In a word, tradition. People enjoy Westlers hot dogs and frankfurters because they know they’re getting their mits on something iconic – fully flavoursome meat from a traditional recipe. It’s what they’ve always got from one of our famous hot dogs, from the first bite of their first Westler.
